Chili Bean is around a year of age and 25#. We will get her up to a healthy weight and finish her vetting. She was nearly feral and very emaciated when she came into the shelter. In their care she learned humans are good, dogs make good friends, and food is definitely good. We will continue her social skills with people, dogs, and a cat. Chili Bean introduced well to her 2 neutered male ACD brothers and wanted to play. She has seen the cat and ignored him. Chili had a long day of transport and a lot of new people and she settled in very well in her foster home. She will learn about crate training, foundation skills, obedience, walking on a leash, traveling in a car etc….Please check back for updates as we get to know her better and see what type of home she will need.

UPDATE 10/28/2017: Lil Chili Bean went to the vet to get her exam & second series of vaccines, & her 4DX test which is negative! She weighed in at a slim 26.3# and she could easily add another 10# or more. Chili tolerated the handling and was a good girl.

UPDATE 11/9/2017: Chili has been in foster care for over 2 weeks now. She is wary of new people but warms up to them when encouraged to do so. She loves to play fetch, is very ball driven and is very energetic, she will need a home that has a constructive outlet for all of her energy. Chili learns quickly and constantly challenges her humans to stay ahead of her antics. She is doing very well with the 2 senior ACDs and the cat. Chili is working on all her obedience skills and her recall is not good due to her just wanting to have fun! At this point a fenced in yard or a long line are necessary to keep her safe. Chili Bean will require an adopter with prior ACD experience.
