New to OCDRT on 8/20/2016 from a northern Kentucky shelter, Kahlua is being fostered in Columbus, Ohio.

If you would like to sponsor Kahlua’s martingale collar for $10, please go to www.OCDRescueTeam.org/donate and mention that it is for Kahlua.

Kahlua was born on 9/1/2012, so she will celebrate her 4th birthday in a little over a week.  She was spayed on 8/17/16 and a minor mammary mass was removed at that time.  She is heartworm negative and current on vaccines.   We will finish her vetting over the next 2-3 weeks.

Kahlua introduced well into her foster pack of two older male ACDs and a GSD/lab mix.  She really wanted to be invisible, but was polite and got through all the nosy hellos.   When leaving the shelter, she walked right by two resident shelter cats and had no reaction.  We will cat test her here also in a week or two.  Kahlua did not know what a leash was.  She does now, and is doing great in this short time.  She likes her crate and sleeps quietly all night, accident-free.   Kahlua will be on a long lead for about 10 days until her stitches are removed from her surgery.  We will work on human socialization skills, crate training, foundation skills, walking on a leash and manners.  Please check back for updates as we learn more about her while undergoing her evaluation.

UPDATE 8/30/2016:  Kahlua has a deposit to hold her from an approved applicant until a meeting can be arranged within the next two weeks.

UPDATE 9/18/2016:  Kahlua had a successful meeting and has left for her forever home.  We will update after two weeks.

UPDATE 10/3/2016:  Kahlua, now known as “Koa” is adopted!
