New to OCDRT on 10/16/2015 from a Southeastern Ohio shelter.

Moon is being fostered in Creston, Ohio.

Moon found herself a stray in a rural area where people were shooting at her and running her off their property.  The dog warden was able to capture her, as she was very scared.  She was in the shelter for a couple of months with no interest.  Moon is an adult and we will have our vets give us an age estimate.  We will start all of her vetting with her first appointment on 10/22 for testing, rabies vaccine and have a spay scheduled.  Moon was scared on transport but did very well with the ladies who helped get her to OCDRT.  She introduced well to the two resident male ACDs, a senior and a young adult.  She has offered to play with both and we discovered she loves to play fetch!  She did well with her bath and loved her brushing.  Moon has liked everyone she has met and follows us around the house and yard.  We will start her foundation training, crate training, traveling in a vehicle and basic obedience.  Check back for updates as we get to know Moon better.

If you are interested in adopting Moon, please request an application form at to start the process.

UPDATE 10/22/2015:  Moon was a very good girl at the vet.   After a thorough exam (including an eye exam), our vet feels comfortable aging her around 4 years old.  We will have her 4DX test results in a couple of days and her spay is scheduled for 10/27.  She has really started to settle in her foster home.  She loves her crate, seems housebroken, fetches like a fool, has good manners and loves to go for walks.  She is coexisting well with her foster ACDs, even the pesky young male.  She did heel my husband when he was in his work boots but a quick voice correction stopped it.  We do know that she was previously shot at, so there may be some other abuse she dealt with also.  However, she loves her people (including my husband) and just wants to be by your side.

UPDATE 10/29/2015:  Moon has a deposit to hold her for a meeting on November 7.

UPDATE 11/23/2015:  Moon, now known as “Luna” is officially adopted!!
