New to OCDRT on 5/30/2015 from a southern Ohio shelter.

Thank you Jackie, Becki and Lexy for transporting!

Zahara is being initially fostered in Creston, Ohio but will transfer to a foster in Columbus Ohio on 6/6/2015.

Zahara is a female puppy around 7-8 months of age and 30#. She needs to gain some weight. She was concerned during introductions and didn’t want to interact, but was polite. She is very submissive to people and easily becomes worried if you raise your voice. She is willing to learn and we will help her gain her confidence. Zahara will have her vetting completed and start crate training, house training, manners, leash walking, traveling & socialization with the pack. Please check back for updates as we get to know more about her during her 2-3 week evaluation.

UPDATE 6/6/2015: Zahara transferred to her foster home in Columbus. She did well meeting her 4 new packmates, 2 ACD’s, a Senior dog and a very large cat! She will require an ACD experienced home.

UPDATE 6/22/2015:   Zahara has taken her time to settle in and is now trying to play with her 10-year-old-ACD brothers (who have no interest in play).  She is afraid of the foster home’s cat, who displays his dislike of her.  She would benefit from living with a super stable dog or would thrive as a solo dog also.   She is more into her humans than she is other dogs.   Her confidence is building and she loves to learn!  She is happy to play with toys or hang on the couch with her person.   Zahara has a very strong prey drive towards birds, so a fenced-in area or long line will be necessary for her safety.  Zahara is accepting applications at this time.

UPDATE 6/28/2015:  Zahara had a meeting and all went well!  She has a deposit to hold her until the weekend of July 18th.

UPDATE 8/3/2015:   Zahara, now known as “Mimosa” is officially adopted!
