Meet Moon

Basic Information

New to OCDRT on 10/16/2015 from a south/eastern Ohio shelter. Moon is being fostered in Creston, OH. Moon found herself a stray in a rural area, were people were shooting at her & running her off their property. The DW was able to catch her and she was very scared. She has been in the shelter for a couple months with no interest. Moon is an adult & we will have our vets confirm her age. We will start all of her vetting with her 1st appointment on 10/22 for testing and rabies vaccine & have her spay scheduled. Moon was scared on transport but did well with the ladies who helped her get to OCDRT. She introduced well to the two resident male ACDs, a Senior and a young adult. She has offered to play with both & we discovered she loves to play fetch! She took her bath well and loved her brushing. Moon has liked everyone she has meet and follows you around the house and yard. We will start her foundation training, crate training, traveling in a vehicle, & basic obedience.

Please check back as we get to know her over the next 2 – 3 weeks.

Updates

October 22, 2015

Moon was a good girl at the vet. After her thorough exam (including an eye test) our vet feels comfortable aging her around 4 years old. We will have her 4DX test results in a couple of days and her spay is scheduled for 10/27. She has really started to settle in her foster home. She loves her crate, seems housebroken, fetches like a fool, has good manners, and loves to go for walks. She is coexisting well with her foster ACDs, even the pesky young male. She did heel my husband when he was in his work boots, but a quick voice correction and she stopped. We do know she was shot at, so there may be some other abuse she dealt with also. However she loves her people (including my husband) and just wants to be by your side.
