Meet Holidae

Basic Information

Holidae is new to OCDRT on 12/29/2015 from a southern Ohio shelter. Holidae is being fostered in Creston, OH Holidae is being described as an adult female who is shy and sweet. She has been in the shelter 3 - 4 weeks. This rural shelter recently started their PetFinder page and FaceBook page, so hopefully the dogs will be adopted quicker :) We will update her bio after she enters our program.

Please check back as we get to know her over the next 2 – 3 weeks.

Updates

December 30, 2015

Holidae is around 2 years and 45-50#. She was a very good girl on her transport. She greeted us with a friendly demeanor at a busy business. She is was a little concerned (growling/posturing) meeting the 2 resident neutered males, but soon was asking them both to play. She crated quietly overnight and kept her crate clean. She's currently in heat, so her hormones are confusing her, but we will get her spayed as soon as she's ready. She goes in for her 4DX, rabies, & exam on the 31st. We will start her core vaccines & de-worming. Holidae will learn leash manners, foundation skills, crating, house training, socializing with other dogs & people. Please check back for updates as we get to know Holidae better.

Holidae was great at the vet. She weighs 46# and is heartworm and tick disease negative! She has settled in well and loves to play with the other ACDs. She greets every person she meets with a friendly demeanor. All her vaccines are started along with de-worming. She will be spayed & micro-chipped on 1/7. Holidae would do well with a dog experienced owner who is new to the breed. We do not know how she will do with cats or small dogs.

Holi is now spayed and micro-chipped. The clinic staff kept commenting how sweet and beautiful she is. She will receive her 2nd round of vaccines & fecal test next week. We introduced Holi to our cat. She showed interest but backed off when the cat hissed, and we could distract her with treats. Our cat does not run and they do not intermingle with the foster dogs. This is a reaction test only. Holi will be ready to meet approved applicants after 1/15.

Holidae had a meeting with an approved applicant, and has left for her forever home. We will update as she settles in.
