New to OCDRT on 9/1 Malibu is being fostered in Creston, Ohio. Malibu was born April 7, 2019 and weighs just under 40 pounds. She was owner surrendered to OCDRT due to having some behavioral issues with handling. Malibu has had a great start on her vetting and we will have her spayed and micro-chipped. She introduced well to the resident ACDs and 2 foster puppies. She wanted to play outside but inside is showing some strong resource guarding. We will help modify this issue so she learns no one will take her toys/bones. She has barked at the resident cats and will continue to socialize with them. She is learning about crate training, restraints, collars and walking on a leash, general obedience and social skills. Malibu will require an ACD savvy home with no small children.
Please check back as we get to know her over the next 2 – 3 weeks.

OCDRT welcomes Malibu into our care!
September 29, 2019
Malibu has made incredible strides while in foster care. Nearly all her behavioral issues have been addressed and modified. She is quick to learn new responses and is very loving and happy. She has meet new dogs, horses, a goat, people and quickly adapts and is social. She will need an experienced ACD home that will give her time to bond and trust and continue to teach her new responses to old behaviors. She will be 6 months old on 10/7 and is around 40#. Her spay / chip / 4DX are scheduled for 11/5. Malibu would thrive in a home with a stable adult dog that loves to play ACD style and won't get upset if she has an issue to work through. We will not place Boo in a home with small dogs, or children under 13 years old. She loves to jump off of you and has a good drive for fetch. She crates for her food time, but does struggle with nighttime crating, but is improving! Mailbu does live with cats but needs reminded to not chase or nip at them.
