Meet Vanilla Bean
New to OCDRT on 8/8/2016 from a North/Western Ohio Shelter. Vanilla Bean is being fostered in Creston OH Vanilla Bean was brought into the shelter by a civilian as a stray. She was very afraid of everything, but did seek human comfort. She has no idea what a leash is for or what humans want from her.
Please check back as we get to know her over the next 2 – 3 weeks.

Vanilla Bean is around a year of age and about 35#. She has started her vaccines & de-wormer & her alter/4DX/rabies vaccine/Heartworm test are scheduled for 8/18. She is a quick study and learning we are here to help her, not to hurt her. She likes her crate and kept it dry all night considering she was too stressed to potty. Vanilla has been avoiding the other ACDs, but is curious. When asked to play she politely goes belly up or warns them off with a proper air snap. She was happily chasing a ball around this morning & coming when called :) We will teach her crate training, house training, social skills, and foundation skills. Currently due to her fear, no children under 10 years of age.

Bean is now spayed. She did great at the vet clinic though she was afraid. She is making strides trusting humans, however noises outside will send her bolting. She will not recall, as she searches for a safe place to hide. She is fully crate trained & walks nice on a leash. Bean is not interacting with the other dogs, her preference is her human. She's going to bond tight to her person after she trusts them. It's nice to see her opening up from her shell. She will be able to go to her forever home after she heals from her spay around 8/27.
